In the third episode of our CHANGE YOUR MIND, CHANGE YOUR BODY® Martial Arts Fitness by BUSHIDO KARATE series  we give instruction on how to make a fist for executing proper punches, hammer fist to the temple strikes and defensive stance.

It’s important to correctly make a fist for punching. It does take some practice but it is so necessary to avoid injury especially if you are hitting heavy bags or focus mitts. Of course with “air” punches you won’t feel pain if your technique is incorrect.  For now it matters because of the muscles you engage and build in your forearms.

Defensive stance to build calves and thighs

Defensive stance in martial arts is meant to protect the four most vulnerable parts of your body; your groin, solar plexus, throat and head. In episode 3 we break down how to establish a defensive stance and how it is helpful in building those powerful leg muscles!
